Tip of the Month - May Symbols on Oriental Rugs
Over the years many different designs and symbols have been woven into oriental rugs. The motifs in today' s rugs have very little significance, since they are often copied from older rugs. Recognizing the symbols and the awareness that they exist, however, provides one with more enjoyment and appreciation of one's rug. Here are a few interpretations of motifs and colors:
